A high denier industrial fiber produced by Far Eastern Textile Co. Ltd is called H.D.I. (High Denier Industrial Yarn)

1. The Manufacturing base of H.D.I. is in the FET’s head chemical fiber factory that is located in Hsinpu, Hsinchu, Taiwan.
2. The industrial yarn sector was officially operated on April 5, 1992. The predecessor of the industrial yarn sector is the yarn-developing sector that was established in 1984. In 1985, based on the sixteen years’ experience in POY production the H.D.I. plant started. In 1987, the pilot plant was established among the first floor of POY and CHIP factory. At first, there were only two pilot machines which from Barmag in Germany and Rieter in Swiss. After the installation, these machines started to test.
3. The capacity of production in the first evolutional stage in 1991 was 3600 Tons/Year.
4. The capacity of production in the second evolutional stage in 1995 was 7200 Tons/Year. In this stage, a high-speed 6000m/min spin draw machine from Rieter was introduced.
5. The capacity of production was expanded up to 18000 Tons/Year in the third evolutional stage in 1996.
6. The capacity of production was expanded up to 40000 Tons/Year in the fourth evolutional stage in 2001.
7. In 2003, HMLS from Barmag is introduced and will produce the first quality products to fulfill the demands of customers.
8. Currently, H.D.I. yearn from FET occupies 80% of the market share in Taiwan.
